The National Credit Union Administration has announced a webinar for credit unions interested in partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The free webinar, "Growing Loans by Partnering with the USDA," will take place Jan. 11 at 2:00 P.M. Eastern, and will cover loan and grant initiatives available to lending institutions. Along with that, participants will take part in a discussion of eligibility requirements for USDA programs and benefits to credit unions, as well as descriptions of the Community Facilities Loan and Grant program, Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan program, and Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan program.
"Improving profitability in the midst of a challenging interest rate environment make this webinar a timely and useful event," NCUA said in a news release on Wednesday.
The webinar will features Lauren Bethea, an economic development specialist with NCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, and host Jeremy Gilpin, vice president of business services with Greater Nevada Credit Union. USDA speakers include Nathan Chitwood, regional coordinator for Community Facilities Program Rural Housing Services; Laurel Leverrier, assistant deputy administrator for Business Program Rural Development, and Kristina Zehr, finance and loan analyst for Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Division Rural Development.
