Neighbors 1st FCU’s CEO Retires After 27 Years

WAYNESBORO, Penn. – Patricia Shew, the president and CEO of Neighbors 1st FCU, is retiring Friday after 27 years with the credit union.

Shew started in 1981 as Manager of Frick FCU, which then was located in the basement of an old building on the Frick Company property, and open only three days a week. At that time, the credit union had 180 members and $100,000 in assets. Member transactions were hand posted and cash was not available.

Today, the credit union is a full-service operation that serves more than 1,900 members and has nearly $11 million in assets.
