ALEXANDRIA, Va. - (07/13/06) NCUA said Wednesday it approveda new charter for a low-income credit union in Houston. The newcredit union, called Mid-Town Community Development FCU, will havea potential membership of almost 270,000 in downtown Houston, andis just the third federal credit union chartered so far this year.At the same time, NCUA said it denied a charter for a proposed lowincome credit union in Hackensack, N.J., New Jersey CommunityAction FCU.
