NEW ORLEANS - (10/12/05) -- HOPE FCU said Tuesday it is offering90-day bridge loans, at 0% interest, to its members and smallbusiness people. The credit union is also loosening terms on auto,mortgage and business loan through year's end to assist hurricanesurvivors. In addition, the credit union said it will award several$1,000 grants, through the New Orleans Police Foundation, to NewOrleans Police Department officers who remained on the job duringHurricane Katrina. Grants are also being offered to some nonprofitorganizations that serve small businesses and residents of thecity. HOPE FCU is also offering Hurricane Evacuation accounts,similar to Christmas Club accounts, where members save throughoutthe year and are allowed to withdraw the funds during hurricaneseason to make repairs or pay evacuation expenses.
