New York’s Island FCU Debuts Low-Rate MasterCards

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. Island FCU is introducing two new low-rate MasterCard offerings.

The “Island Best Rate” MasterCard will have a six-month introductory interest rate of 1.99% on purchases and 1.99% on balance transfers for 12 months. After that the rate is as low as 7.95% on all balances. There are no annual or balance transfer fees.

The “Island Best Rewards” World MasterCard offers an interest rate as low as 9.95%. The credit union said when an individual signs up, he or she will receive 10,000 free points. These points can be redeemed for travel, gift cards and a variety of other options as part of the Island Rewards program.

Anyone who lives in Nassau or Suffolk counties is eligible to join the $900-million credit union.
