New Zealand Hosts CU Institute

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND - A new Credit Union Institute of New Zealand has been created here with a goal of promoting excellence and professionalism in credit union governance and management, ongoing education and a code of ethics.

The Institute will be led by the New Zealand Association of Credit Unions, the Australian Credit Union Institute and the Institute of Directors in New Zealand, and will offer opportunities to gain additional competencies and capabilities through the existing New Zealand Association of Credit Unions distance study program.

Those who complete the program will be recognized with Certificate in Credit Union Governance, and be able to go on for further study and earn an Advanced Certificate in Credit Union Governance.

Aussie CUs Use Money Transfers

PERTH, Australia-Credit Union System Corp. of Australia Ltd., a leading process services provider to credit unions here, has signed an agreement with Western Money Transfers that will allow CUs to become the first authorized, deposit-taking local institutions to use the transfer service.

Western Union Money Transfer will replace the Travelex MoneyGram product.
