Teller Charged In $72K Theft

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - A teller at Capstone FCU has been charged with stealing about $72,000 from the credit union to pay for his gambling. Alexander Flores, a teller for three years, allegedly said he had been taking the money over the course of a month. He lost money gambling, and said he meant to pay the credit union back by gambling more, according to police. Flores is the main suspect in a similar theft in 2007 from Wescom Federal Credit Union in Temecula, police said.

Woman Charged In Robberies

FAIRFAX, Va. - A local woman was arrested this week and charged with two robberies last month at separate branches of Apple FCU. Angela Fitzhugh-Hill was arrested after a patrol officer spotted the suspected getaway car in both robberies - a 1997 Buick LeSabre - in the parking lot of a nearby shopping mall. Investigators determined that Fitzhugh-Hill was the car's owner and was at a nearby business. She was arrested when she returned to her vehicle, police said.
