Cards Blocked After Skimming

ROCHESTER, N.Y.-ESL FCU has blocked almost 4,000 credit/debit card accounts after regional grocery store chain ALDI reported a security breach and the theft of card account information. The credit union reported that some members had money stolen. ALDI says tampered payment card terminals were placed at checkouts in some of its stores in the Rochester area from June 1 to Aug. 31. The "skimmers" also were discovered at stores in Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.

 

Burglar Captured Inside CU

ARLINGTON, Texas-A teenager who broke into Security One FCU early morning on Oct. 11 was captured inside the branch after police searched the building. Officers spotted a teen wearing dark clothing inside the credit union, police said. When the teen declined to exit the building, officers went inside, searched for a few minutes and found him, police said.

Police identified the man as John Thi Pham, 18, of Arlington. He was charged with burglary.
