RALEIGH, N.C. – State Employees CU’s SECU Foundation on Monday donated $1 million to the construction of a critical care hospice home in Newport, N.C, one of a handful of hospices financed by the $24-billion credit union.

The SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House will be the first inpatient hospice in the five-county area, including Carteret, Craven, Jones, Onslow and Pamlico.
The facility will provide 10 private suites, six acute care and four residential units. Completion is scheduled for spring 2013.
