North Carolina SECU Provides 0% Financing For Residential Maternity Home

RALEIGH, N.C. – State Employees’ CU said its SECU Foundation is providing a 0% $500,000 loan to fund construction of a new With Friends Residential Maternity Home to benefit pregnant teens or parenting girls with babies who are homeless or displaced in Gastonia, N.C.

The project, a partnership with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, is a one-story, 5,800-square-foot facility with six bedrooms, private baths, and common areas including a kitchen, dining room, play room, computer lab, and a counseling center.

The loan will provide an estimated savings of $30,000 to $40,000 for With Friends, Inc., a non-profit serving youth who are homeless, runaways, or in crisis because of family dysfunction or lack of connections with other adults and the community.
