Credit unions have been seeking a higher profile, but a new TV spot may not be the type of publicity CUs have been looking for.
In a new commercial for Mike's Hard Cranberry, two guys who lead normal lives each decide to do something different.
"John and Tom are regular guys. They do the usual thing in the usual way at the usual places," says the announcer. Video shows one of the guys entering a branch and putting on a mask before spraying over the video camera. "Then one day John was at the credit union when he decided to go unusual."
In Tom's case, he decides his unusual act will be to order a Mike's hard cranberry lemonade, which he drinks while watching John being arrested.
