PLEASANTON, Calif.-Ellie Mae, a provider of loan processing software for mortgages, reported that during the first full week of 2009 the company saw a record number of new mortgage applications originated through its Encompass Mortgage Management Solution and its ePASS Network. On Jan. 6 and 7, 30,500 new loan applications passed through the Encompass LOS each day.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-Xtend Inc. a CUSO, said it is extending through 2009 its $13,500 stock pricing to qualified credit unions and CUSOs "looking to invest in a fast-growing, innovative industry partner." To date, the CUSO is owned equally by 44 credit unions and one CUSO. Xtend provides an array of managerial, operational, marketing, technical planning and consulting services for credit unions of all sizes.

BURLINGTON, Mass.-DeposZip, a consumer and business remote-deposit-capture service, said it closed 2008 with more than 87,000 items deposited. Collectively, deposits totaled $76 million, with an average deposit value of $1,151. Moreover, reported DepsoZip, the number of active CU members grew by 24% each month, with credit unions in 13 states participating. As the company entered 2009 it announced four more CUs have joined: the $648-million Farmers Insurance Group FCU, $581-million Liberty Bay FCU in Boston; the $172-million MBTA Employees FCU in South Boston, and the $37-million Ohio Healthcare FCU in Dublin, Ohio.

DENVER-Foolproof Financial Education Systems has awarded a trip to the Caribbean to Pennsylvania's Dr. Murry Nelson and announced it will award another trip in 2009.
