CMG Enhances Workers Comp
MADISON, Wis.-CUNA Mutual has entered into an alliance with Liberty Mutual to enhance its workers' compensation line. Liberty Mutual is the nation's second-largest workers' compensation provider.
Liberty Mutual will underwrite policies, process claims and provide loss prevention services, while CUNA Mutual will continue to manage the program and distribute the product to credit unions. CUNA Mutual's new offering in conjunction with Liberty Mutual becomes effective for new policies Jan. 1, 2008, and for policy renewals beginning March 1, 2008.

Discover Gift Cards In Some Malls
RIVERWOOD, Ill.-Discover Financial Services said its Gift Cards will now be available at malls owned by General Growth Properties nationwide.
This agreement will mark the first time Discover Gift Cards are available in retail locations and able to be purchased by non-Discover card members.

Micro Tag Key Fob Released
SAN FRANCISCO-Visa has released the Visa Micro Tag, a key fob payment device embedded with Visa payWave, the card association's contactless technology feature. Similar to MasterCard's PayPass program, which has been widely advertised and marketed, Visa Micro Tag is designed to easily attach to a key ring and to allow cardholders to pay by simply waving their Visa Micro Tag in front of a contactless smart card reader without the need to physically swipe or insert the device into a point-of-sale terminal.
Visa said financial institutions are able to offer cardholders a companion smart card device to an existing Visa credit, debit or prepaid account. According to Visa, an account number is not required to be embossed or printed on the device, providing an additional layer of security for consumers carrying a Visa Micro Tag in visible ways, such as on a keychain Visa payWave was introduced in 2005 and requires no signatures for payments under $25.
