NY CUs Can Now Go To School

Credit unions in the Empire State will be able to join those in more than a dozen other states and open in-school branches in elementary schools under a new law signed last week by Gov. Pataki.

Credit unions around the country have been locating branches and other limited operations in schools for the past few years to help teach financial literacy and develop financial relationships with students. In New York that has been limited to on-site visits by credit unions, until now.
