CUs See Devastation, Progress In 9th Ward Tour
NEW ORLEANS-The devastation of Hurricane Katrina is still evident in New Orleans' Ninth Ward, St. Bernard Parish and other areas of the city that were submerged in 12 feet of floodwaters following the Aug. 28, 2005 storm.
Participants of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Union's 33rd annual Serving the Underserved Conference, on hand for a personal tour last week, saw that progress was being made, but realized there was still a long way to go.

Greylock FCU Buys Another Insurance Agency
PITTSFIELD, Mass.-Greylock FCU has acquired family-owned Gallup & Casey Insurance Services and will combine it with its own insurance operations, acquired in 2004. The deal transaction that will make Greylock the Berkshire's only county-wide agency. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The combined insurance agency, which will operate under the Greylock name, will have $15 million in premiums and an estimated 9,000 customers.
