PORTLAND, Ore. – OnPoint Community CU and Countrywide Financial unveiled a joint mortgage venture yesterday that will market the mortgage lender’s products and services directly to members of the state’s largest credit union. The joint venture, called OnPoint Mortgage, marks the first time the nation’s largest mortgage lender has partnered directly with a credit union. OnPoint Mortgage will offer more than 140 mortgage products and services to OnPoint’s 180,000 members. The $2.3 billion credit union is currently hiring mortgage officers in 11 branches.
