Opening Marked With Free Spree

To mark the opening of its latest supermarket branch, Wescom Credit Union gave another member a two-minute shopping spree inside the Albertson's Supermarket. New member John Frassoco was so excited about winning that that he made a couple of trips to store to scope out the aisles and plan his shopping strategy. With his family cheering him on, Frassoco piled $482.22 worth of shrimp, roasts and other meat items into his grocery cart.

As part of the festivities, Wescom and Albertson's provided a barbeque lunch on the store patio, while pop music station KIIS 102.7FM landed its helicopter in the parking lot so popular disc jockey "Commander Chuck Street" could participate and rally the crowd. Wescom has a total of 22 branches throughout southern California, with more planned to open later this year.
