ONTARIO, Calif.-The California league and CURoots Cooperative are in discussions to transfer ownership of CURoots to the California League Services Corp.
CURoots said its services-which include shared compliance and specialty internal audit services-will continue uninterrupted. The company was formed as a means of centralizing common backoffice functions for credit unions and thereby reducing costs. League CEO Diana Dykstra said the move would transfer ownership from the current 18 organizations to 324 league members.
The sale and transfer of assets is subject to a membership vote with approval requiring a simple majority. A special CURoots membership meeting is scheduled for Feb. 15.
