Patelco CU Wants To Buy Its New Neighbors A Cup Of Coffee

PLEASANTON, Calif. – Patelco CU is celebrating its move here from San Francisco with its representatives springing out of the blue to buy the neighbors a cup of coffee or fill their tank with gas.
The $3.7 billion credit union is celebrating its 75th anniversary by spreading out $45,000 in cash giveaways as part of its Patelco Pays Your Way Program. Patelco hopes to surprise as many as 1,500 Bay Area residents with everything from $75 gift cards to Lucky supermarkets to local businesses including Tully’s Coffee, Jamba Juice, ARCO stations and Panera Bread.
"We want to say 'thank you' to the communities and people who have supported us for the past 75 years," said Patelco President Ken Burns.
In conjunction with last month’s move of its headquarters here, Patelco has launched a multi-media marketing campaign featuring print, TV and online ads, around the theme Bank on Trust. The campaign also features a new sponsorship of the Golden State Warriors professional basketball team. “We were delighted to conduct our first splash of the Bank on Trust campaign Sunday night with our ad banner visible to the fans in the Golden State arena,” said Burns.

“We found through our research that Warriors fans are statistically more likely than the average consumer to be Patelco members, so we want to reach out to those Warriors fans who have not yet discovered us,” said Burns.
