Pennsylvania Credit Union Association Is Big Winner In Pro & Blockbuster Awards

WASHINGTON - CUNA has named the winners of its 2008 Pro & Blockbuster Awards for excellence in public relations, marketing, and advertising by state leagues and league service corporations.

The Best of Show Pro Award went to the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association for its “Credit Union Better Choice” program, while the Best of Show Blockbuster Award was also presented to the PCUA for its iBelong Campaign.

Other winners: Best Sales Promotion: Wisconsin league–league marketing agency.

* Best Print Materials, two colors or less: Credit Union Marketing Resources (Texas).

* Best Print Materials, three or more colors: North Carolina league for its Marketing Council Conference Promotional Brochure.

Two first-place Blockbuster Awards for league/LSC advertising campaigns went to:

* Best Campaign, budget $10,000 or less: California and Nevada leagues, 2007 Big Valley Educational Conference Campaign; and

* Best Campaign, budget more than $10,000: CU Association of New Mexico.

* Best Credit Union Electronic Media Advertising, the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues for “Famous” spot.

Two first-place winners for best credit union advertising collateral material were:

* Best Credit Union Sales Promotion: New York State CU League for its “Want a Quarter Percent Off of Your New Mortgage” ads.

* Best Credit Union Print Materials, three or more colors: CU Association of Colorado, Routt Schools FCU Membership Brochure.  

Three first-place finishes for credit union advertising campaigns were awarded to:

* Best Credit Union Campaign, budget $10,000 or less: Growth by Design (Georgia).  

* Best CU Campaign, budget more than $10,000: Pennsylvania CU Association.

* Best Logo Design: North Carolina Credit Union League.

First place Pro Awards went to:

* Blow Your Own Horn: Texas CU League.

* Best Community Relations Program: Pennsylvania CU Association.

* Best PR Project: Iowa Credit Union League, Advocacy Campaign.

* Best League Piece on the Uniqueness of CUs: Mississippi CU Association, Reflections of Katrina: “People Helping People.”

Pro Award first place finishers:

* Magazine, small budget: Missouri CU Association, Missouri Courier Magazine.

* Magazine, large budget: Texas Credit Union League, LoneStar Perspectives.

* Most Improved Publication: California and Nevada CU Leagues, Credit Union Digest.

Other first place Pro Awards went to:

* Best League Annual Report or Yearbook, small budget: North Carolina CU League.

* Best League Annual Report or Yearbook, large budget: Wisconsin CU League.

* Best Website: California/Nevada CU Leagues, CreditUnionsWork.org.
