ATLANTA – What could be Georgia’s first credit union geared specifically to the Latino market is under development.
According to local news reports, NCUA has been working with organizers of the proposed credit union, to be called Georgia Family Credit Union.

The organizers are following the model used by Latino Community Credit Union in Durham, N.C. GFCU already is two years in the making, using seed money from IDEAS, a Decatur, Ga.-based non-profit that promotes financial services for low-income communities.
