MidStates Expands Into W. Virginia

WARRENVILLE, Ill.-Mid-States Corporate is expanding its check processing business into West Virginia. Mid-States is joining with West Virginia Corporate CU in a partnership to offer share draft processing following the planned closure of the Federal Reserve's Charleston Office. Many of West Virginia's CUs are using the Federal Reserve to process member share drafts.

NW Corporate Creates University

PORTLAND, Ore.-As part of its effort to deepen staff product knowledge, Northwest Corporate CU has created Northwest Corporate University, and is reporting that the average score this year on the product knowledge test among NWCCU's staff was 97%, with 83% achieving a perfect score. The curriculum includes two components: Northwest Corporate 101 and Certification Programs.

In the first year, nine employees passed the 101 components. Another six employees are working through the certification programs, which includes in-house classes on more advanced topics, CUNA's STAR & MERIT programs, and some college courses.

PEMCO Technology Links To PULSE

SEATTLE-PEMCO Technology Services will become a direct processor with the PULSE network, a nationwide ATM/POS network that connects nearly 250,000 ATMs and more than 3.3 million point-of-sale terminals across the 50 states. Establishing a direct connection to PULSE will give the more than two-million ATM and debit cardholders with the 240 credit unions that PEMCO processes for access to their money at more locations nationwide, the company said. PEMCO's direct connection to PULSE is expected to go live in early 2005.

Four Texas CUs Sell To TNB

DALLAS-Four Texas credit unions that have been longtime credit card processing clients of TNB Card Services have decided to sell their card portfolios to TNB. Selling their portfolios are Santa Fe FCU, Amarillo; Gulf Coast FCU, Corpus Christi; First Community CU, Portland, and Shared Resources Credit Union, Pasadena. The four CUs represent 3,600 accounts.
