Subprime Mortgage Is Offered

DES MOINES, Iowa-The Members Group and Central States Mortgage have entered into a partnership that will provide TMG clients with access to a sub-prime mortgage product. "It is has been increasingly important over the last couple of years that a non-traditional mortgage product was needed to reach a segment of the credit unions members who had poor or no credit," said Tom Kuehl, president and CEO of TMG. "Obviously, sub-prime lending can carry a negative connotation. However, when used properly it can be a powerful tool for a credit union to offer its members to help rebuild credit ratings and create solid credit histories."

TMG said it will continue to work with CUNA Mortgage and PHH to provide conventional mortgage loans to the more than 50 credit unions in Iowa that use TMG's mortgage service.
