APPLETON, Wis. — Prospera Credit Union said it soon will temporarily be managing daily operations for University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Credit Union, based 20 miles away in Oshkosh, Wis., while the $25 million CU seeks a new president.
According to a statement released Wednesday by $178 million Prospera CU, it agreed to assist UW Oshkosh CU, "after a change in leadership due to the resignation of UW Oshkosh Credit Union's former president."
NCUA lists Scott D. Chicoine as UW Oshkosh CU's manager/CEO. There is no mention of the management change on the credit union's website.
"Prospera Credit Union has relevant expertise that can be of assistance to the UW Oshkosh Credit Union," said Sheila Schinke, CEO of Prospera CU. "Credit unions have a history of being collaborative and we look forward to helping our fellow credit union through this transition."
Rick Van Drisse, chairman of the board for UW Oshkosh Credit Union, said the directors want to assure the CU's members "the credit union is safe and secure."
"We are committed to continue providing quality service. They can conduct their business as usual," he said. "We are working toward simple improvements and are grateful for Prospera's assistance during this time."
The management agreement between the two CUs will be in place for 60 days.
