Purdue Employees FCU Taps Astronaut As Credit Card Image

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue Employees FCU has a new face for its alumni credit card, Eugene Cernan, the last man on the moon.

The retired astronaut will replace Purdue alumnus and NFL quarterback Drew Brees, who had a three-year contract with the credit union.

The new Visa credit card features a picture of Cernan walking on the moon.

A TV advertisement for the card features Cernan paying for a cup of coffee with the card in West Lafayette's Triple XXX Family Restaurant.

Cernan, 78, flew to the moon twice and commanded Apollo 17, the last manned mission to the moon, in 1972.
