SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Authorities arrested a man and his son-in-law last Thursday afternoon after a brief chase following an armed robbery of $50,000 from the Redwood CU branch in nearby Point Arena.
The two men allegedly burst into the branch just after 1 pm and ordering employees at gunpoint to empty their cash drawers, authorities said. The robbers threatened both members and credit union employees, then left with approximately $50,000 in cash.
Witnesses saw the Jeep vehicle in which they departed, and got its license plate number, facilitating the police chase.
The two suspects, Fred Orlando, 55, and Raymon Ojeda, 39, were being held at the Mendocino County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, authorities said.
