EVERETT, Wash. - (07/07/06) – A bank robber who had a red dyepack explode as he was making his getaway Wednesday, discarded thestolen loot and robbed a nearby credit union instead. The dye packwas hidden in a bag of cash the suspect stole from First HeritageBank, but the robber dumped the bag after the dye pack explodedinside, spreading red dye. About 15 minutes later the same robberheld-up the branch of Snohomish County Public Utility District CUacross town, police said. Police are reviewing the surveillancetapes at the credit union and bank in their search for thebandit.
