NAFCU’s Economic & CU Issues Monitor found almost half of recently polled NAFCU members (46%) believe their working relationship with their examiner is “average” or “somewhat difficult.” Documents of Resolution, for example, are an issue, with 51.4% of respondents stating they received a document of resolution during their last exam and 39% felt the DOR was not justified.

Regarding the safety and soundness attention from examiners, respondents said the most common focus was asset/liability management (17.9%), followed by member business loans, credit risk management and internal controls (10.7% each).
