Robber Shot During CU Heist

TULSA, Okla. – A robber was shot yesterday while exchanging gunfire with a security guard at a Tulsa Teachers CU branch.

Police say the guard and the suspect fired several shots during the attempted robbery and the suspect was hit at least once.

Tulsa Police tracked the man to a house near Pine and Greenwood where he was arrested.

The gunman entered the branch, jumped over the counter and demanded money from the tellers, according to police. The suspect then hopped back over the counter and made a run for the door. Police said the credit union’s security guard followed the suspect and fired several shots at him.

Officers said the suspect was hit in the hand and arm. He is expected to survive.

No one at the credit union was injured during the gunfight.
