Robbery Suspect Arrested After Locking Her Keys In Getaway Car

OROVILLE, Calif. – A women who confessed to robbing a Sierra Central CU branch in Oroville last week – and is suspected of robbing a bank in Chico – was captured as she was robbing her third institution when she left her keys inside the locked getaway car.

Police say the suspect, Laura Murray, was released after her confession because she has a contagious staph infection and they did not want her exposing other inmates in the county jail. Because of that infection, Murray was taken to Oroville Hospital, where she checked herself out against medical advice Thursday morning.

Police said she had the stolen money in hand, but not her car keys. She was arrested while trying to break the window of her own car.
