Robbery Suspects Caught In Traffic

DAYTON, Ohio - What started out as a routine traffic stop led to the arrest of two men suspected of two armed robberies, including one at Wright-Patt Credit Union.

After officers pulled over a car for traffic violations, 36-year-old Jeffrey Mays jumped out of the car and ran, but one of the officers managed to chase him down.

According to local news reports, one of the officers recognized the coat Mays was wearing as having been worn during the Wright-Patt robbery. Information from Mays led officers to search for 20-year-old Rondell Lynch, who is suspected of being the other participant in the robbery. Police found Lynch hiding in the basement of a local home, where they also found money and several bags believed to hold crack cocaine found in Lynch’s socks and shoes.
