DURAND, Mich. – City officials have agreed to provide incentives to SageLink CU to move the $135 million credit union’s headquarters here from nearby Flint.

Under the deal, the credit union will build a 10,000 square-foot, two-story office on city-owned property. The city has agreed to issue a $700,000 bond to help the credit union purchase the property.
The addition of as many as 40 credit union jobs is expected to boost the local community. The estimated cost of the project is $2 million.
The credit union is the product of a 2006 merger of Genesee First FCU and Shiawassee Community CU.
