IRWINDALE, Calif. – SCE FCU has awarded 14 outstanding high school students from low-income households $1,000 scholarships each.

Funded by the SCE Federal Credit Union Foundation, which has been conducting financial literacy workshops in local high schools for the past eight years, the scholarship program is designed to help high-achieving, financially challenged students who have participated in the workshops pay for college. Applications were accepted from the California communities surrounding Boyle Heights, Duarte, Irwindale, Lynwood and Ontario.
