Semantic Buys VeriSign’s Identity Authentication Business

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – Semantic Corp. has agreed to acquire VeriSign's identity and authentication business for $1.28 billion.

Processing Content

The VeriSign unit includes the Secure Sockets Layer, Certificate Services, the Public Key Infrastructure services, and VeriSign Trust Services and the VeriSign Identity Protection Authentication Service.

The agreement is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close in the September quarter.
