WASHINGTON – The Senate Banking Committee endorsed 10 Bush nominees, including Michael Fryzel for the NCUA Board, then sent the package on for a full vote–expected as early as today–by the full Senate.

Fryzel, the former director of the Illinois Department of Financial Institutions, has been nominated to be chairman of the three-year NCUA Board. He would succeed JoAnn Johnson, who has been serving as a holdover since her six-year term on the panel expired last August.
Fryzel, a protégé of former NCUA Chairman Ed Callahan, has been a member of the Illinois CU Advisory Board for 17 years and represented many credit unions in his private law practice.
