Serial Robber Favored Same CU

TOLEDO, Ohio – A local man was arrested and charged with eight armed robberies between November 2009 and September 2010, including three at Sun FCU branches.

Bernie Augustyniak, 45, of Perrysburg, allegedly held up the same Toledo branch of the credit union, getting away with $17,413 and $14,767, then robbed another branch of $19,248.

He also is charged with holdups at Huntington Bank, First Federal S&L and Charter One Bank.
