WASHINGTON–Another sign of changing times: seven long-time, brand-name vendors serving credit unions are missing from CUNA’s GAC trade show this year, with all now operating under the same name: Fiserv. Its seven subsidiary data processors, all acquired over the past two decades but operating under their individual brands, are now part of history: Aftech, USERS, Integrasys, Galaxy, CUSA, Summit, and XP Systems.
The company continues to support the individual platforms of each of those companies and the credit unions running those systems, according to Fiserv, and will do so for the foreseeable future.
The consolidation does not come as a surprise to anyone: Fiserv executives have readily acknowledged the most frequent question they get from credit unions has been how long Fiserv would continue to support the separate brands. Over the past year Fiserv had been using the transitional advertising message, “CU7,” and had retrained the sales force to sell any of the solutions and their other products.
Sara Brooks, chief strategy officer with Fiserv, said the branding consolidation extends far beyond just credit union vendors, and involves 77 different brands that will all now operate as Fiserv. The new branding includes a new corporate color (orange) and a logo with fiserv in lower case letters.
In the case of credit unions, Brooks said the individual users meetings hosted by the seven data processors will be consolidated to one users meeting in August in Nashville. As Fiserv serves 2,300 credit unions, such a users meeting could represent nearly one-third of all credit unions were they all to attend.
