- HOOVER, Ala. (05/01/02) -- The Hoover ServiceCenter here has become the first in the CU Service Center networkto implement the International Remittance Network (IRnet) service,the low-cost money transfer system championed by the credit unionmovement. The service center has also hired a full-time bilingualemployee to assist in communicating with Hispanics, a major targetfor the service, in processing the wire transfers. IRnet wascreated by the World Council of CUs (WOCCU) with an aim toproviding U.S. migrants with an inexpensive option to send fundshome through the credit union system.
