BATON ROUGE, La. - (09/08/05) For those who escaped the storm-tornGulf Coast before the storm, one of the biggest problems now isbuying gas to try to move back homeor at least closer tohome, if home still isn't accessible. "One of the biggest problemswith evacuees here right now is the lack of gas," reportedLouisiana CU League's Alicia Blanda, who at one point was strandedin Jackson, Miss., herself for just that same reason. "The pricesreally aren't all that bad, but finding gas is a problem. Most ofthe credit unions and banks are running out of temporary locations,so people are in fairly good shape in terms of being able to gettheir money, but they're having a hard time buying any gas withit."
