Employees of six national credit union organizations here have won an award from America's Charities for their generosity. The award recognized the National Credit Union Foundation, CUNA, the American Association of CU Leagues, the Association of Corporate CUs, the Defense CU Council, and the World Council of Credit Unions.
The associations raised $9,067 for the NCUF and $12,097 for other national, state and local charities based in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The campaign's kick-off event featured a chili cook-off that put six employees' chili recipes to a taste test. In a secret ballot modeled after the first credit union board elections, CUNA Financial Support Manager Sid Holland's mix of mild and tangy spices was the undisputed winner.
