FLINT, Mich. — After receiving final regulatory approval, the merger of $1.4 million St. Patrick (Croswell) Credit Union into $396 million Security Credit Union began earlier this month.
The two CUs said integration of their assets has commenced, with all operations expected to be combined by July 31.
Members of St. Patrick (Croswell) CU, based in Croswell, Mich., gave their approval of the merger on April 24, according to Christopher Estes, president and CEO of Security CU.
"Security Credit Union remains committed to providing its members with secure, convenient and personalized service,” Estes said in a statement. "As we welcome new members from St. Patrick (Croswell) Credit Union, we are pleased to offer enhanced products and services as well as expanded office locations and business hours."
Security CU said it will open a new office in Croswell in July. It will be located at 5200 Peck Road between Howard Avenue and Croswell Road, and will offer full-service operations, the CU said.
The addition gives SCU 11 branches, which now will serve more than 48,000 members in Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. Security Credit Union was chartered in 1949.
