Smash-and-Grab ATM Bid Fails

MILWAUKIE, Ore. - (07/05/06) – Bandits used a stolen front-endloader to smash through the front of Clackamas Community FCU earlyTuesday morning but failed to dislodge the ATM, the apparent targetof the unusual break-in. Police and fire department workers arrivedaround 5 am to find the tractor on fire, halfway through the frontof the credit union. The bandits failed to upend or open the cashmachine, but only pushed it further into the lobby, police said.The building and the front-end loader sustained several thousanddollars worth of damage.
