GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Sooper CU got an unexpected gift from one of its members: a combat flag that flew during combat in Afghanistan.

Longtime member Daniel Dannar, who is retiring from the Air Force in September, donated the combat flag. He said he wanted to give the flag to the credit union branch, and his parents delivered the gift.
Dannar, who opened his first account at the credit union at age 7, said the credit union was always there to help him, so he thought of the credit union when distributing combat flags.
