The $167 million credit union will use the new technology to offer its 11,000 members a number of new services, including Jwaala Better Online Banking, Access Softek, mobile banking, mobile deposit capture, ATM/debit card services, and statement processing.

The projected conversion is set for Aug. 3, 2015.

Jeff Davenport, president and CEO of Southbridge CU, said in a prepared statement, "I was looking for a company who fully understood and supported the credit union industry and would become more than a core processing vendor but a true strategic partner. Synergent Technology Services not only understands the philosophy of the collaborative business model but it embraces it in the company's own business model."

John Murphy, president and CEO of Synergent, said in today's competitive financial services environment, offering the latest in technology is a necessity in growing and retaining credit unions' membership.

"Synergent is able to offer a wide range of services to credit unions, allowing them to stay on the cutting edge of technology simply and efficiently," Murphy said.

Southbridge CU has branch locations in Auburn, Fiskdale, Southbridge and Sturbridge, Mass.

Synergent Technology Services is based in Portland, Maine. It provides credit unions with technology services, offering the Episys Core Processing Platform by Symitar. Synergent also provides CUs with shared branching, statement processing, debit/ATM card services, check processing and support services, direct marketing services, targeted marketing and Episys data mining.
