ANACONDA, Mont. — Southwest Montana Community Federal Credit Union is the latest to sign with Member Driven Technologies, and plans to convert its core processing to Symitar Episys via the CUSO's solution in early 2016.
Tom Dedman, president and CEO of $101 million Southwest Montana Community FCU, said in a statement he is "really excited to be able to work with a company filled with like-minded people whose job is focused on how we can become more efficient and offer the best class of services possible for our members."
"As a credit union, our purpose is to help fulfill the hopes and dreams of our members, not to be a data processing shop," Dedman said. "By joining MDT, Southwest Montana Community Federal Credit Union will be able to focus on member service, not on operating systems or the nuts and bolts of technology. It is important to us that we do business with credit unions cooperating together for the mutual benefit of all."
SMCFCU was founded in 1941 by a handful of copper smeltermen. Today, Southwest Montana Community FCU serves more than 7,200 members via two branches: one here and one in Butte, Mont.
Member Driven Technologies is a CUSO started by a group of Michigan credit unions in early 2003. It now has five offices in the U.S. — three in Michigan and two in Montana — and serves 151 clients in 27 states. MDT performs processing for more than 1.8 million members, with combined assets of $17.5 billion.
