LOS ANGELES - (01/13/06) A group of 10 area creditunions has opened a new CUSO aimed at providing capital and otherservices to small business. Called Business Loan Link, the CUSO isrun by Jill Casselman, a former executive at Bank of America,Citicorp and Experian. Some of the credit unions, such as the USCCU, will market the business loans under their own name, otherswill use the Business Loan Link brand, and others will co-brand theloans. Some just plan to buy participations in loans made by othermembers of the CUSO. The CUSO is also working to get approval tooffer federally guaranteed loans through the Small BusinessAdministration. Among the other owners are: Southland CU, HealthAssociates FCU, and Allied Healthcare FCU.
