LINO LAKES, Minn. — Core processing provider Sharetec System, based here, said Stepping Stones Community Federal Credit Union in Wilmington, Del., has converted to the Sharetec Core system.
According to Blanche Jackson, executive vice president for Delaware State Police FCU and mentor for Stepping Stones Community FCU, the conversion was a success.
"Core conversions can be overwhelming, but the Sharetec team ensured ours went as smoothly as possible," Jackson said in a statement. "The staff training and transition went beyond our expectations and we did not experience any issues. We are confident Sharetec will provide our volunteer staff with the automation and ease of use that is critical for us to effectively serve our members going forward."
Rashmi Rangan, executive director of Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council, Inc., the founding organization of Stepping Stones Community FCU, said, "As a credit union that relies solely on volunteers, having a user-friendly system, such as Sharetec, will allow Stepping Stones Community FCU to deploy its volunteer resources more effectively and efficiently. In 2016, this system, because of its ease of use, will allow us to serve our members five days a week."
The company said the credit union's conversion to Sharetec Core will allow it to leverage simple-to-use, yet automated and integrated technology that will allow the staff to more efficiently serve members while offering new services that potential members are seeking.
Stepping Stones is striving towards a more automated environment to help drive down costs and improve efficiency, which Sharetec pointed out is critical to the young credit union's financial success.
Stepping Stones Community FCU's mission is to help alleviate poverty in the Wilmington community. The CU obtained its charter from NCUA and opened its doors on Jan. 6, 2012.
