UPPER DARBY, Penn. – A Franklin Mint FCU ATM stolen from a local hospital Monday was found in a burned-out van used to transport it–minus almost $100,000 in cash that was inside the machine, according to police.
The cash machine was by two men seen on a surveillance video from the Delaware County Hospital Monday evening. One suspect is seen pushing a hand dolly on which they loaded the 780-pound machine and the other is carrying a clipboard.
The credit union was notified of a power surge shortly before 9 p.m., when the two men cut the access wiring to remove the machine.
The ATM machine, which held an estimated $96,000, and van used to transport machine were later found in Philadelphia after being set on fire. All of the cash inside the ATM was missing.
