Suburban Boston’s Framingham Municipal FCU Rebrands

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Framingham Municipal FCU is eliminating checking and Internet banking fees and changing its name to Metro-West Community FCU as part of a rebranding around its expanded field of membership serving almost 700,000 residents in communities west of Boston.

“Our new charter will allow us to compete more aggressively with the banks. People everywhere are looking to credit unions as good alternative, and now anyone in the Metro-West Community can look to us,” said John Gallinagh, president of the $86 million credit union.

Current members still are able to use their Framingham Municipal checks and credit cards.
