MADISON, Wis. – Summit CU is poised to open its latest in-school branch in Memorial High School in January.
This will be Summit's second school-based branch. The first, at La Follette High School, opened in January 2011 and is available during the school's lunch hour. Two students operate the credit union each year, with Summit's supervision. Summit also provides teachers with a financial literacy program called FoolProof.
Each school credit union costs Summit about $20,000 a year.
